Retired Czech Republic international shot stopper Petr Cech will start in goal for North London side Arsenal when they face English League One side Blackpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The Gunners will host Blackpool at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night in the bid to secure a spot in the last eight of the competition and Petr Cech is almost certain to start for the hosts following his return from hamstring injury.
His potential involvement was confirmed by the Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
The Spanish tactician talked about Petr Cech in his pre-match thoughts ahead of the Blackpool game.
The former Chelsea goalkeeper will make a return to the Arsenal XI after one month.
Cech was a regular in the Gunners’ starting XI until he sustained a hamstring injury during the 2-0 victory over London rivals Watford at the end of last month.
He sustained the injury on the stroke of halftime while trying to take a goal kick and was subsequently replaced by summer signing Bernd Leno.
The North Londoners went on to score two second half goals through Craig Cathcart (own goal) and Mesut Ozil to secure the maximum points for a fifth straight victory in the Premier League.
