Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is strongly interested in the Manchester United job according to various media reports.
Conte, 49, has been without a job since he was fired by Chelsea at the end of last season.
Chelsea and Conte endured an underwhelming campaign last season following their fifth-place finish in the Premier League which saw the Blues miss out on this season’s Champions League.
The former Juventus boss failed to hang on to his job despite winning the 2018 FA Cup title via a 1-0 win over fierce rivals Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium in May.
According to Sky Sports Italia reporter via The Sun, Conte is keen on the Manchester United job if it becomes available.
He further revealed that the former Italian national team manager is excited with the prospect of working with players like Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
Pogba played under Conte for Italian champions Juventus before the ex-Blues boss left Turin to take up the Italian national team job.
Conte is said to prefer the Red Devils job ahead of the one at Real Madrid.
The European champions are in search of a permanent manager following the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui in the aftermath of Barcelona thrashing.
