Arsenal legend Martin Keown has congratulated Liverpool for making the decision to sign Fabinho in the summer following the impact of the South American in last two games.

Fabinho joined the Anfield team in the summer from Ligue 1 side As Monaco with a fee of £40 million which was earlier regarded as an extravagant buy by pundits.

The criticism of the fee invested on Fabinho was almost being justified with manager Jurgen Klopp failing to make use of Fabinho until of recent when he gave him the chance as a way of marking his birthday.

Fabinho proved to be a brilliant player with his performance by helping to stabilize the Liverpool midfield especially with the absence of the team captain Jordan Henderson.

In his analysis, the Arsenal legend, Keown noted that the Brazilian is a great player who is a good addition to the Liverpool team.

Citing the Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade, it was noted that Fabinho got hold of the ball 96 times in their 4-0 win and only Joe Gomes and Georginio Wijnaldum could boat of touching the ball more than the player.

Keown stated that the player has given the German manager plenty of options to make use of in the middle with expectations that they will give the same level of performance.
