Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer young forward Tahith Chong a big contract to ward off interests from other clubs.
The 18-year-old is gradually working his way into the first team squad on the back of impressive performances for the club’s U23 team.
He has scored four goals in seven appearances for the club in Premier League 2.
Tahith Chong had featured for Manchester United during their pre-season campaign in the summer before being named as a substitute for the Champions League loss to Italian giants Juventus.
Paolo Dybala was the matchwinner for the Old Lady in the 1-0 win over the Red Devils on Tuesday night.
Juventus and Barcelona were also interested in Tahith Chong before Manchester United won the race to sign him from Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord in 2016.
He currently earns just £2,000 on a weekly basis at Old Trafford and the Red Devils are keen on offering him a big contract that will see his salary increase to between £15,000 and £20,000.
According to the Metro via thesportswitness, Manchester United want to offer the youngster a big long-term contract that will mirror his status at the club thereby warding off the potential interest of other European sides.
