Klopp makes claim on Liverpool’s title chase

Klopp

Liverpool manager has made some claims on his side’s Premier League title pursuit as they record a landmark of 26 points in 10 games so far in this season.

The Reds are unbeaten in the League and it has been a steady progress for them after defeating Cardiff City by 4-1 with a double from Sadio Mane and others from Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool now top the Premier League table but they might be overtaken by Manchester City who are yet to have their game against Tottenham.

The German manager, therefore, stated that it would not be as easy as it seems at the moment for his sides as they face very difficult challenge ahead as the season progresses.

He says that the competition has become so difficult because his side has no space for mistakes as losing a single game could land them far behind owing to the fact that teams in the first 6 have very close points.

Klopp says the development makes it important for his side to remain unmoved on top and not lose a single game as it could cost them their title bid.

According to him, looking ahead to the next games is more important especially now that the Cardiff game has already been won.

Ousmane Dembele

Exciting Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele faces a big fight to save his football career at the Nou Camp after he was handed an ultimatum to improve his disciplinary record or face the exit door.

The 21-year-old has failed to justify his hefty transfer fee since he signed for the Spanish La Liga champions during last summer’s transfer window.

Dembele became the most expensive teenager in world football when he joined Barcelona from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of €105m plus €35m in add-ons.

The former Rennes player battled with fitness issues in his first campaign as a Barcelona player but he recovered to contribute his own part to a successful season under manager Ernesto Valverde.

Barcelona won both the Spanish La Liga and Spanish Copa Del Rey titles.

Ousmane Dembele then helped the French team win a second World Cup title at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

France manager Didier Deschamps led the team to victory via a 4-2 win over fellow European side Croatia.

Buoyed by the World Cup title, Dembele started his second Barcelona season well contributing six goals and two assists until recently when he started having disciplinary problems at the club.

Denis Suarez

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez wants to stay at the club amidst transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The 24-year-old has been a subject of transfer rumours involving Premier League sides such as Chelsea and Arsenal.

According to trusted media outlet ESPN via Metro, Denis Suarez has no intention of leaving Barcelona in the New Year.

It was further revealed that the Spanish international star favours a transfer that won’t take him out of Spain.

He has also been linked with Italian Serie A side Napoli who came close to signing him on two occasions when new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was at the club.

The latest development is a big blow to Arsenal fans who thought they are almost certain to sign him when the transfer window reopens.

Several media reports had claimed that the Gunners were in the driving seat ahead of Chelsea and Napoli in the race to sign Denis Suarez.

He has hardly featured for Barcelona this season and that’s mainly due to the pre-season injury he sustained as well as the summer arrivals of Brazilian star Arthur and Chilean player Arturo Vidal.

The Scotland international skipper revealed that he was almost convinced by Mark Hughes who was the then Stock manager through some chats and he was convinced that they were keen on having him join the club.

Andy Robertson noted that the fact that Hull City finished top 10 that season was enough reason for him to consider a move to Stoke but he eventually moved to the Anfield after a call from the German manager.

Manchester United Offer Lorenzo Pellegrini New Four-year Deal

Lorenzo Pellegrini

Manchester United are yards out in their pursuit for Champions League qualification next term.

United’s robust squad needs a spark after experiencing a run down from the start of the season. The club have suffered some of the worst hits since Mourinho took the wheel of the club two years ago.

They are spotted with flaws this season, dull in their frontlines, shabby in their backfield, and have a huge leak in their centre.

United were completely battered by Manchester City at the Etihad, pointing out the frailties in the club.

Midfielder Paul Pogba was absent in the Manchester derby, however, it was glaring enough that United already have water above their chins and set to drown completely if no quick fix is provided.

Vice chairman Ed Woodward refused to plough funds into the club in the summer, and the club got hammered heavily, as can be seen in their huge drop in display this term.

Woodward looks to have taken a sting from their languid showoff this first half of the season and is willing to sanction funds to bring in a new recruit through the January window.

22-year-old Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini is their preferred target and according to Italian Corriere dello Sport, has been offered a four-year deal by the Red Devils.

Talks are in the pipeline, but there’s a wall–Roma want to keep their star man–however, United are prepared to double more than his current salary to prise him away from the Italian capital.
