Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made a surprise confession about star player Xherdan Shaqiri after starting him from the bench in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Cardiff City.
Shaqiri had impressed in Liverpool’s Champions League game and that seems to be the step to his breakthrough in the Jurgen Klopp’s team as he is now being considered for selection.
Howbeit, he was left to start from the bench in the Saturday game with the German manager confessing that the decision was a very difficult one to make as a result of the good form of the player.
Shaqiri who was not limited by the limited playing time, came in from the bench to score a goal in addition to the ones already scored by Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The Swiss international who is having his first season at the club is not known well enough to be able to react and recover fast according to Klopp who thinks the player has played a lot of games and needed to have some rest.
He, however, did not show any sign of fatigue as he moved into the game in the second half to make a big impact.
Klopp has hinted that the player now deserves more playing time as he has impressed and has proved he can add something to the team.
