Arsenal continued their recent winning run on Thursday night with the 1-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League but the Gunners faithful were not impressed with the performance of midfielder Mohamed ElNeny.
Several Arsenal fans were highly critical of his outing against the Portuguese Super League giants on social media despite the victory.
England international star Danny Welbeck broke the deadlock for the North Londoners in the 78th minute and that proved to be the only goal of the game.
The slim win was enough for Arsenal to record eleven straight victories in all competitions.
Egyptian midfielder Mohamed ElNeny played a large part of the game before he was withdrawn in the second half.
The 26-year-old featured for 58 minutes until he was replaced by Uruguay international midfielder Lucas Torreira.
With summer signing Torreira in the side, the Gunners were a better team and they went on to make their superiority count with the goal from Welbeck twelve minutes from time.
Mohamed ElNeny has been a bit-part player for the North Londoners since he made the move to Arsenal from Swiss side FC Basel in a £5m deal.
Since his transfer in 2016, he has made 75 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.
