In-form Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has praised the ability of teammate Matteo Guendouzi ahead of the Gunners’ Europa League meeting with Sporting Lisbon.
According to him, the Frenchman is the best young player at the club.
The retired German international revealed this in a Twitter Q&A session with fans as monitored by the Daily Mail.
Matteo Guendouzi is a French junior international and the 19-year-old has impressed a great deal since joining the Gunners from France’s second-tier side Lorient in a £7m deal in the summer.
Mesut Ozil also talked about the hugely talented duo of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during the session.
The former Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 star described Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi as the best opponent he has faced.
He also disclosed that Ronaldo is the best teammate he has played with.
Ozil and Ronaldo played together at Real Madrid for three years before the former swapped Spain for England in a then club-record transfer for Arsenal.
The 30-year-old is in the spotlight once again following his recent performances for the Gunners, including his sensational outing against Leicester City on Monday night.
He scored one goal and provided another as he helped the North Londoners to come from behind to beat the Foxes 3-1 in their Premier League clash.
