Arsenal Plan January Swoop For £3.5m Defender

North London giants Arsenal are reportedly planning a swoop for Argentine international left-back Nicolas Tagliafico ahead of the transfer window which reopens in the New Year.
Tagliafico, 26, has been very impressive since he swapped Argentinian side Independiente for Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam in January.
The former Champions League winners paid around £3.5m for his services and he went on to sign a contract that will take him to the end of the 2021/22 season.
Nicolas Tagliafico has made 25 appearances for Ajax since his move earlier in the year in addition to featuring for two-time world champions Argentina on 10 occasions.
According to a report from calciomercato via caughtoffside, new Arsenal manager wants to boost his left-back options with the addition of Tagliafico but it remains to be seen whether the former Dutch champions will want to part company with the player after 12 months.
He could be a direct replacement for the Gunners’ first-choice left-back Nacho Monreal who’s in the twilight of his career at the age of 17.
The Spanish international has struggled with various injury setbacks at times this season alongside his deputy, Sead Kolasinac.
Both players were absent from Monday night’s Premier League win over Leicester City with respective hamstring injuries.
