Chelsea have been hugely fancied as title contenders this season.
The Blues have kicked-off the new campaign in a sizzling fashion and new boss Maurizio Sarri is to be thanked for that.
Last season, the club took a plunge ending sixth on the table but have somehow clawed back, as Sarri attempts to win his first silverware as manager.
The 59-year-old is widely known for his tack “liquid football” or “Sarri-ball” .
His meticulous approach as a manager and his famous trademark of playing a highly organised defensive four-man back-line system makes him one of the stand-out managers in European club football.
Sarri’s style of approach is known to inject attractiveness and excitement, including the urgent need of retaining possession, and his teams’ ability to move up the pitch quickly, catching opponents off guard, using a deep-lying playmaker who dictates play in front of the back-line.
This has earned the Italian the Enzo Bearzot Award during his short bout of success at former club Napoli, and Barcelona star Xavi admits he’s always fascinated watching Sarri and likes the Italian a lot.
He praised the 59-year-old for his great ideas, and added, “his football works because of the moves he manages to express on the pitch.”
The Spanish international believe he can dominate and go ahead to win the Premier League with Chelsea this season.
“His Chelsea side are spectacular,” he commended.
