Mourinho Defends Man United Star Despite Horror Show Against Juventus
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has leapt to the defense of star striker Romelu Lukaku after his horror show against Italian champions Juventus in their Champions League clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
The Portuguese tactician defended Lukaku in his assessment of the Juventus game during the post-match press conference.
According to him, the Belgian international striker is ready to give his all to the team before pointing out that the former Everton and Chelsea player is not in a good form at the moment.
Romelu Lukaku was arguably the worst player on the pitch in the game with the Old Lady.
He was dominated by the Juventus centre-back partnership of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini as he got little change out of them.
The Italian champions kept their hosts at arm’s length with Argentine forward Paolo Dybala getting the only goal of the game on 17 minutes.
His strike was enough to give the Italians a 1-0 win and it could have been more if not for the outstanding Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea who made several saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
The victory ensured that Juventus maintained their perfect start to their Champions League campaign this season.
