French striker Anthony Martial didn’t have the best of summers after he was left out of the 23-man France squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
However, things are on the way up for the 22-year-old following his recent turn to form for Premier League giants Manchester United.
Without him, France national team manager Didier Deschamps led the team to a second World Cup title in Russia but he has recovered well from missing the football showpiece.
Martial has scored three goals in the last two Premier League games prompting talks of a recall to the France squad ahead of the international break in November.
He also received a congratulatory message from Deschamps after his heroics against Chelsea at the weekend.
The former AS Monaco star scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in what was a Saturday lunchtime kickoff.
Chelsea had earlier taken a 21st minute lead through former AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger before the Martial show in the second half.
He profited from some slack Chelsea defender to pull his level on 55 minutes before adding the second goal for the Red Devils in the 73rd minute off an assist from Marcus Rashford.
Martial was on his way to be a matchwinner until Chelsea substitute Ross Barkley snatched a 2-2 draw for the hosts with almost the last kick of the game.
