Liverpool defender Andy Robertson is of the opinion that his side slim win against Huddersfield is very significant to the Red’s title bid.

It took the brilliance of Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah to save the Anfield side at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday.

Robertson admitted it was a difficult game but his side had shown character and resilience to be able to win the game ugly. He added that it brought relief to the team and the fans after fears that they could drop more points.

According to him, it is evidence that they deserve to win the league this season while affirming their candidacy as real contenders.

He praised the newly promoted Huddersfield for putting up a good fight that almost went in their favour but they ended up suffering their sixth defeat of the season.

While Huddersfield are second to the last, Liverpool went second on the log behind Chelsea with 23 points in 9 league games.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has lamented the poor performance of his side in the game noting that they were not composed from the beginning of the game but were only lucky to see a win.

Klopp hopes to keep pushing so as to win a title for his side this year. The German has not won a title since joining the club about three years back.
