New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri and his players face another test of their Premier League title credentials when they welcome ailing Manchester United to Stamford Bridge in a Matchday 9 clash on Saturday lunchtime.
The Blues have already passed previous tests against other top four rivals like Arsenal and Liverpool in flying colours with four points from those two games but Manchester United will present a different kind of opposition to the Italian tactician and his wards.
To start with, Manchester United are expected to adopt a more defensive approach for the game than what was obtainable when Chelsea faced Arsenal and Liverpool in Matchday 2 and Matchday 7 respectively.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will be hoping he can effectively execute his defensively tactical style which relies heavily on set pieces.
Ahead of the game, Sarri is expected to retain the same side from the last league match at Southampton, while Mourinho is expected to make several changes from the 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United at home in their last league game.
Probable Chelsea XI: Kepa Arrizabalaga; Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Ross Barkley; Willian, Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard.
Probable Manchester United XI: David De Gea; Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw; Fred, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba; Juan Manuel Mata, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford.
