Chelsea star Ross Barkley became the saviour of his side on Saturday as he averted what would have been the first defeat for Maurizio Sarri side in the Premier League.
All hope for the Stamford Bridge side who were ahead via an Antonio Rudiger’s goal was dashed by the brace from United’s Antonio Martial to put the visitors in front.
It took the young lad who was subbed in 20 minutes to the end of the game to stop the visitors from stealing all points back home.
Barkley has expressed his delight at helping his side, stating that his confidence has greatly improved with what happened in the game.
He said manager Maurizio Sarri had pleaded with him to help win the game before the substitution and that worked great.
Barkley, therefore, expressed his disappointment that his side failed to pick all three points despite being ahead in the first half.
According to him, his side were not as organized with the ball as they ought to be and that has cost them to share points with the visiting team.
The Blues will, therefore, add a point to their 20 points to be amongst the top three in the group after Manchester City and Liverpool won their match.
