Cengiz Under

North London giants Arsenal have emerged as favourites for Turkish international winger Cengiz Under ahead of the next transfer window in the New Year.

Cengiz Under is on the radar of several European giants after churning out impressive performances in the colours of Italian Serie A AS Roma.

The 21-year-old has been linked with clubs like German champions Bayern Munich and the North London duo of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a specific report from football.london, Arsenal are overwhelming favourites to sign him ahead of Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.

The report further revealed that Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma would accept a transfer fee of at least £52m (€60m) from any club as a result of the sell-on clause in his transfer from Turkish Super League side Istanbul Basaksehir.

There’s a 20% sell-on clause in his contract when he joined the Italian capital club from Basaksehir in the summer of 2017.

Cengiz Under would be a fantastic addition to the Gunners’ setup since the North Londoners lack a proper winger in their squad.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been forced to use Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and German World Cup winner Mesut Ozil on both the left wing and right wing respectively in recent matches.

Mesut Ozil

Arsenal have German playmaker Mesut Ozil in their ranks at the moment but that has not stopped them from being linked with a player that has been dubbed the ‘next Ozil’.

The Gunners are said to be plotting a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz who has been in superb form for his German Bundesliga club this season.

The Daily Mirror claim that Kai Havertz could be the man to take the creative mantle from Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.

The Arsenal manager has dropped Mesut Ozil from the squad on several occasions this term.

The German has only started one league game for Arsenal since the turn of the year and that was the 2-1 win over Welsh side Cardiff City.

Kai Havertz, 19, could replace him this summer if the Gunners manage to shift his £350,000 weekly wages off the wage bill.
