What way for Liverpool as major stars become major doubts

Liverpool have shown the character of real Premier League title contenders with their fine form and unbeaten run so far in the league.

The Merseyside club are now third in the league table with 20 points after 8 games, one of the best outings they have had in few years.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has made it clear of his intention to gun for a title this season stressing that a second place for his side cannot be celebrated as a medal.

This bid to ensure a title win seems to be threatened with the latest reports of injury of most of the key members of the team from the international break.

Last season’s golden boot winner Mohamed Salah was the first to pick up a muscle injury while on duty with his Egyptian side and was immediately flown back to England for treatment and monitoring.

Virgil van Dijk has also got issues with his rib and is still struggling to get over the pain, a development that has kept him away from his country’s last game.

The next sad news came from Senegal where Saidio Mane reportedly broke his thumb and was immediately substituted and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Naby Keita remains the latest report from Guinea on Tuesday where he picked up a hamstring injury, making him a doubt for Liverpool when they return from the international game.

With Huddersfield in sight for the Reds, there are no assurances that the above mentioned players will return fully ahead of the game, making it a big blow for the German manager.

Can Klopp boast of replacements for these stars or will he force them to a return, not minding their fitness level? All of these need to be answered to find a way out for the Anfield team.
