Man United Face Barcelona Competition For £75,000-a-week star

Premier League giants Manchester United have to fend off the challenge of Spanish champions Barcelona in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld according to various reports in the British media.
A specific report from The Sun who claimed that five-time European champions have joined the race for the 29-year-old ahead of the next transfer window in January.
The Belgian international centre back has been strongly linked with a move away from his North London club since the summer.
He was one of the standout performers for Belgium at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Toby Alderweireld helped the Red Devils to a third place finish at the tournament via a 2-0 victory over the Three Lions of England in their 3rd/4th place playoffs.
The former Southampton and Atletico Madrid star has less than a year left on his current deal with Tottenham Hotspur though the club has a clause of an additional year in his contract.
In addition, interested clubs will have to pay £25m for his services if the club decides to exercise the clause of an extra year.
Toby Alderweireld has been an ever present in Tottenham’s rise to the top five in the Premier League this season.
