Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is in line to start for the Three Lions of England when they travel to the Estadio Benito Villamarin to face Spain in a UEFA Nations League clash scheduled to take place on Monday.
Winks recently impressed for Tottenham Hotspur in a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Spanish champions Barcelona in their Champions League meeting at the start of this month.
He’s expected to replace Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson who’s suspended for the Spain game alongside Manchester City centre back John Stones.
Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has started the season very well and he impressed a great deal against the same opposition last month.
The former Charlton Athletic star will take the place of the suspended John Stones.
England manager Gareth Southgate would be hoping his side can salvage the bad start to their UEFA Nations League campaign when they face Spain in Seville.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament semifinalists lost their opening game at the Wembley Stadium to Spain in September before playing a goalless draw against their hosts Croatia on Friday.
In September’s game, England took the lead through Marcus Rashford before Saul Niguez and Rodrigo scored to secure a 2-1 victory for Spain.
