Former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel has thrown his weight behind Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in the current crisis engulfing the Premier League giants.
According to the German, the club’s hierarchy must shoulder the blame for the problems at Manchester United and that Mourinho has been a successful manager to date with a defensive style of play.
His defensive style is a far cry from the attacking brand of football demanded at Old Trafford.
Markus Babbel is presently the head coach with Australian League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers.
He spoke about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho in an interview with Omnisport.
Mourinho and Manchester United have endured a disappointing start to the new season.
The former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was also involved in a feud with several of his players.
Mourinho reportedly had issues with players like France World Cup winner Paul Pogba, January signing Alexis Sanchez and Eric Bailly.
Widespread media reports had claimed that Mourinho would be sacked after the Premier League game against Newcastle United at Old Trafford last weekend.
The pressure on him eased a little bit after his team came from two goals down to beat the Magpies 3-2 courtesy three second half goals.
