England manager Gareth Southgate has expressed optimism that Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will bounce back from a disappointing outing against Croatia ahead of the upcoming game against Spain on Monday.

The Three Lions of England travel to take on Spain in a Uefa Nations League (UNL) clash and England boss Southgate is hopeful that Rashford will be able to leave his disappointing display against Croatia behind.

Gareth Southgate spoke about Marcus Rashford and his England side ahead of Monday’s game against the Spanish national team also known as La Roja.

Marcus Rashford had a night to forget on Friday after missing several chances as England were forced to a goalless draw in their Uefa Nations League away clash to 2018 FIFA World Cup finalists Croatia.

Gareth Southgate is hopeful that Marcus Rashford will return to goalscoring form after his exploits in the last set of international games last month.

The Manchester United Academy graduate was on target in last month’s games against Spain and Switzerland.

He gave England the lead against Spain off an assist from club teammate Luke Shaw but Saul Niguez and Rodrigo scored to give Spain a 2-1 win at the Wembley Stadium.

Rashford then scored the winning goal in the 54th minute to give England a 1-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in September.
