Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly held talks with Ed Woodward on Thursday over the Red Devils’ poor start to the new season under his watch.
Ed Woodward occupies the Chief Executive role at Manchester United and is the eye of the club owners, the Glazer family.
He had previously enjoyed a frosty relationship with Jose Mourinho over transfers and the tension between both parties grew over the summer when he failed to grant the new centre-back request of the Portuguese tactician.
According to the report from the Daily Express, Mourinho and Woodward held talks at the club on Thursday but the outcome of the meeting is unknown.
Mourinho’s position as the Manchester United manager has been under scrutiny since the start of the season and reports even claimed that the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss would be dismissed from his job at the end of the Premier League game against Newcastle United but that didn’t come to fruition.
Instead, the game gave him a little respite after his team came back from two goals down to win 3-2 in front of the Manchester United faithfuls.
The match had been preceded by a wretched run of three league defeats in seven outings.
