LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly been linked with a shock return to Premier League giants Manchester United in the next transfer window in January.
According to the report from renowned news portal, ESPN, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen on signing the Swedish football legend as he tries to turn the club’s fortunes around.
Jose Mourinho and his players have come under heavy criticisms for the better part of this campaign after their poor start to the season.
The Red Devils have already lost three of the first eight league games of the new campaign and are languishing in eighth position with 13 points.
Manchester United are already seven points off top spot in the race for the title and five points off the last Champions League spot presently occupied by Arsenal.
The report from ESPN also revealed the reason behind Mourinho’s interest in bringing back the 37-year-old to Old Trafford and that he wants to shake up his dressing room with the addition of the winning mentality Ibrahimovic brings.
Manchester United signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer in the summer of 2016 after his contract with French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) ended.
He finished as the club’s top scorer in his first season before leaving for the MLS in March 2018.
