Manchester United were well on their way to another defeat against Newcastle United until an impressive second half performance helped the Red Devils to an important victory.
Before the game against the Magpies at Old Trafford on Saturday evening, the former Premier League winners had already recorded three defeats in just seven games and could not afford another defeat if they still harbour hopes of winning the Premier League title this season.
Jose Mourinho and his players trailed to Newcastle United at halftime and according to The Sun, Paul Pogba proved to be the catalyst behind the comeback win at the end of the second half.
Newcastle United took a shock lead as early as 7th minute through Brazilian winger Kenedy before summer signing Yoshinori Muto added a second goal three minutes later.
The visitors could have added more goals in the first half but their lack of ruthlessness ensured that Manchester United trailed to only two goals at the halftime interval.
During their halftime team talk, Pogba was said to have advised Mourinho to bring Marouane Fellaini into the game and drop him to sit in front of the back four.
The suggestion worked as the home side netted three times to secure a 3-2 victory over their opponents.
