Romelu Lukaku Reveals Mourinho Reaction To Impressive Comeback Victory Against Newcastle

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has talked about his manager’s reaction to the team’s impressive comeback win at home to Newcastle United.

According to the Belgian international striker, Mourinho didn’t say much but he was quite positive after the game.

The Red Devils came from two goals down to secure just a second Premier League win at home via a 3-2 victory over the Magpies.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been under intense pressure in recent weeks following the Red Devils’ disappointing start to the season.

His plight was not helped by the feud between him and some of his players.

Media reports had claimed on Friday that the Portuguese tactician will be sacked no matter the outcome of the league clash with Newcastle United only for the Manchester United board to distance itself from those claims.

The visitors capitalised on the uncertainty at the club as they took a 2-0 lead at halftime courtesy goals from Brazilian winger Kenedy and Japanese forward Yoshinori Muto.

The scoreline could have been more but the away side squandered several opportunities to add to their tally and that came back to haunt Rafael Benitez and his wards.

Substitute Juan Mata scored a fine freekick to halve the deficit on 70 minutes before Anthony Martial equalised six minutes later.

Substitute Alexis Sanchez scored the winning goal via a header on the stroke of full-time to hand his side the maximum points at stake.
