Predicted Manchester United XI vs Newcastle United

Man-Utd vs Newscatle

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho would be hoping to arrest a recent poor run of four games without victory when the Red Devils host Newcastle United in a Premier League Matchday 7 clash on Saturday evening.

Mourinho is the bookmakers’ overwhelming favourite to be the first Premier League manager to get the sack this season and it’s very difficult to make a case against this following his side’s unimpressive start to the new season.

Mourinho and his Manchester United players took their winless run at home to four games after the goalless draw against Valencia in the Champions League.

It was another blunt performance from the Red Devils but the result didn’t put their knockout stage qualification hopes in immediate danger.

The Old Trafford outfit had earlier suffered a surprising Carabao Cup third round exit at the hands of Championship side Derby County on penalties following the 2-2 draw at regulation time.

Their last league outing ended in a 3-1 loss at West Ham United and that saw them slump to 10th spot on the table.

Ahead of the crucial league meeting against Newcastle, Jose Mourinho is likely to make one change to the starting lineup from the Valencia game in a bid to maintain his side’s defensive solidity.

Summer signing Fred could come in for Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

Manchester United have not kept a clean sheet in their last three games dating back to the week 4 match at Burnley (2-0).

Manchester United XI v Newcastle: David De Gea; Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw; Fred, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba; Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez.

Why Chelsea fans should be worried, Antonio Rudiger
