New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has made the list of nominees for the Premier League manager of the month for September 2018.
The former Sevilla, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Valencia boss was on a four-man list revealed on Friday.
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo; Manchester City boss and last season’s title-winning coach Pep Guardiola; and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made the shortlist.
Spanish tactician Unai Emery signed a three-year deal in the summer to become the Arsenal manager.
He replaced Frenchman Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium.
Wenger ended his 22-year reign at the North London side winning ten major trophies (three Premier League titles and FA Cup titles).
Unai Emery began his managerial dispensation with successive league defeats against champions Manchester City and London rivals Chelsea before securing a first league win of the season.
His Arsenal side defeated West Ham United 3-1 at the Emirates courtesy goals from Nacho Monreal, Issa Diop (own goal) and substitute Danny Welbeck while star forward Marko Arnautovic got the consolation goal for the Hammers.
The West Ham game was the Gunners’ last league match in August and it preceded September league wins over Welsh side Cardiff City, Newcastle United, Everton and Watford.
