Manchester United have reportedly drawn up their transfer targets ahead of the next transfer window in the New Year and one name features prominently on it.
The Red Devils are reportedly keen on a January move for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.
The 32-year-old has less than a year left on his current contract with the Blues but he could leave for rivals Manchester United in January and some months before the end of his Chelsea deal.
He had previously expressed his concerns about a lack of first-team opportunities under the dispensation of new manager Maurizio Sarri.
According to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, Manchester United are interested in a move for retired Three Lions of England centre back Gary Cahill as the Red Devils try to solve their much publicised defensive problems.
The Red Devils have conceded a whopping 12 goals in just seven Premier League games.
Manchester United manager had earlier requested for a centre-back in the summer but didn’t get his wish during the last transfer window.
A move for Gary Cahill represents a cheap move for Mourinho to address his team’s defensive problems and also give him the opportunity to reunite with his former player.
Both parties enjoyed a fruitful relationship before Mourinho was sacked as Chelsea manager in December 2015.
