Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has called out the club on the current contract situation of midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Arsenal legend spoke about Ramsey and his Arsenal contract during an exclusive chat with popular English media portal London Evening Standard.
According to Sol Campbell, Arsenal should stop the former Cardiff City midfielder from exiting the club by giving him a new deal.
The former Tottenham Hotspur centre-back cited Ramsey’s importance to the team.
Aaron Ramsey signed for Arsenal in the summer of 2008 after the North London giants won the race to sign him ahead of Manchester United.
Since his £5m deal from Welsh side Cardiff City, Ramsey has become a key performer for the team.
His major contributions include netting the winning goal in both the 2014 and 2017 FA Cup final against Hull City and Chelsea respectively.
The Welsh international scored the winning goal in extra time to give his side a 3-2 win over Championship side Hull City at the Wembley Stadium and help Arsenal end a nine-year wait for a major title.
The 27-year-old returned to the Wembley Stadium to score another FA Cup final winner against city rivals Chelsea in a 2-1 win last year.
It was the last major trophy won under Arsene Wenger.
