Arsenal Face Spanish Competition For £30m-rated Winger
North London giants Arsenal will have to navigate through Spanish opposition in their quest to sign Lille winger Nicholas Pepe ahead of the January transfer window.
The Gunners are strongly interested in the Ivorian international star but will have to see off competition from Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona and Sevilla for his signature.
As reported by popular English news portal Daily Mirror, the previously mentioned two Spanish sides are interested in Pepe alongside French Ligue 1 side Lyon and Premier League club Everton.
Lyon was said to have made a £26m bid for the 23-year-old during this summer’s transfer window but it was rejected by their rivals Lille.
Everton made their interest in him public by sending scouts to watch him as he netted a hattrick against Amiens in a French Ligue 1 game two weeks ago.
Nicholas Pepe became a subject of transfer interest for other European clubs after he scored 13 goals in 36 league appearances in the last campaign and his form has continued into the new season.
He has scored five goals in eight games, including a treble against Amiens.
New Arsenal manager Unai Emery is in search of quality additions for the Gunners ahead of the January transfer window and Nicholas Pepe fits the bill but the club will have to fend off other teams for him.
