Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru is being targeted by Bayern Munich, that’s according to goal.com
The Nigerian broke into limelight in 2016-17 season while playing for Belgian side Eupen. He was Jupiler League’s joint top scorer with 22 goals after playing only 38 matches.
His wonderful performances and goalscoring feat with the Belgian side drew Everton’s interest and the Merseyside successfully captured his signature in 2017.
Unfortunately for the Tofees, they couldn’t make use of the 21-year-old winger due to work permit issue. However, he was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht.
His time with the Belgian powerhouse was a bittersweet one as he suffered many injury setbacks.
Despite his injury crisis, the former Eupen star scored 19 goals from 22 appearances in all competitions.
Once again, the Super Eagles left-winger was sent on another loan move before the start of this season.
According to transfermarkt, Turkish giants Galatasaray paid £700,000 to Everton for his service.
Since his move to Turkey, Onyekuru has played just three matches, scoring two goals no thanks to injury.
In one of its reports last night, goal.com confirmed that Bayern Munich’s manager Kovac — who’s in dire search for Robben and Ribery’s replacements — have picked up an interest in the impressive youngster.
Though, he would need to compete with some top European clubs for his signature as the same source claimed that Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Marseille are all keeping close tabs on the player’s development in Turkey.
Onyekuru moved to Everton for a deal worth £7m and he’s reportedly set to cost nothing less than £14m in the summer.
