Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that midfielder Aaron Ramsey is unfazed by the media attention surrounding the breakdown of his contract talks with the Gunners.
The Spanish tactician spoke about the former Cardiff City Academy graduate ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with in-form Watford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Aaron Ramsey has hugged the headlines for the better part of the last one week after the Gunners withdrew their contract offer earlier this week.
The 55-cap Welsh international has less than a year left on his current Arsenal contract and his representatives have been in talks over a new deal for several months until the contract withdrawal news broke this week.
He was reportedly offered the chance to double his £110,000 per week wages but the two-time FA Cup-winning goal recipient was holding out for a deal that will take him to level with German teammate Mesut Ozil.
The former Real Madrid and Schalke 04 playmaker signed a new contract in February to become the highest earner in the club at around £350,000 on a weekly basis.
Further reports claimed that Arsenal are keen on selling Ramsey in January but the midfielder wants to run down his contract in a bid to get a lucrative free transfer deal next summer.
