Keita, Mignolet, Fabinho out ; Henderson, Van Dijk, Alisson in — Jurgen Klopp starting XI vs Chelsea

Liverpool recorded their first defeat of the season on Wednesday when they lost 2-1 at home to Maurizio Sarri’s side in the EFL cup competition.

The Reds couldn’t hold on to their lead as they succumbed to the Blues pressure, letting Emerson Palmieri equalized while giving Eden Hazard the chance to put the game behind their reach as he scored a beautiful goal.

After losing to the Blues in the EFL competition, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be hoping to have a better outing on Saturday as his side battle the same opposition in one of Premier League’s week seventh fixtures.

Having made eight changes to his starting lineup XI during yesterday’s defeat, Klopp is reportedly set to name a strong first eleven against the Stamford Bridge outfits ahead of the crunch tie.

Here is how Klopp’s starting XI might look like against Chelsea, who will be playing in front of their fans:

Alisson Becker returns to the starting lineup after watching Simon Mignolet concede two goals on Wednesday.

Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold.

Van Dijk pulled out of action in Saturday’s victory against Southampton due to a slight injury.

However, the Dutchman should be back into the team and he will start alongside Joe Gomez at the heart of the defence.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold complete Klopp’s four-man backline.

Experienced James Milner returned to the starting lineup, likewise Henderson and Wijnaldum.

This means summer signings Fabinho and Naby Keita will start from the substitute bench.

Though he hasn’t reached the level many expected, Egypt international Mohammed Salah will lead the attack against the Blues.

He will be flanked by Senegalese Sadio Mane and Brazilian Firmino at the right and left wing respectively.
