Liverpool recorded their first defeat of the season on Wednesday when they lost 2-1 at home to Maurizio Sarri’s side in the EFL cup competition.

The Reds couldn’t hold on to their lead as they succumbed to the Blues pressure, letting Emerson Palmieri equalized while giving Eden Hazard the chance to put the game behind their reach as he scored a beautiful goal.

After losing to the Blues in the EFL competition, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be hoping to have a better outing on Saturday as his side battle the same opposition in one of Premier League’s week seventh fixtures.

Having made eight changes to his starting lineup XI during yesterday’s defeat, Klopp is reportedly set to name a strong first eleven against the Stamford Bridge outfits ahead of the crunch tie.

Here is how Klopp’s starting XI might look like against Chelsea, who will be playing in front of their fans:

Goalkeeper

Alisson Becker returns to the starting lineup after watching Simon Mignolet concede two goals on Wednesday.

Defence

Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold.

Van Dijk pulled out of action in Saturday’s victory against Southampton due to a slight injury.

However, the Dutchman should be back into the team and he will start alongside Joe Gomez at the heart of the defence.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold complete Klopp’s four-man backline.

Midfield

Experienced James Milner returned to the starting lineup, likewise Henderson and Wijnaldum.

This means summer signings Fabinho and Naby Keita will start from the substitute bench.

Attack

Though he hasn’t reached the level many expected, Egypt international Mohammed Salah will lead the attack against the Blues.

He will be flanked by Senegalese Sadio Mane and Brazilian Firmino at the right and left wing respectively.

ethan ampadu

Chelsea midfielder Ethan Ampadu has signed for German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on loan for the new season.

His loan deal to RB Leipzig was confirmed earlier on Monday.

The 18-year-old Chelsea player has been handed the number 26 jersey at the German club.

Ethan Ampadu was promoted to the first team at Chelsea in 2016 and he has made 12 appearances in all competitions since then.

The young Welsh international signed a new contract at Chelsea in September 2018.

While Maurizio Sarri was the Chelsea manager last season, he made just three appearances in all competitions for the west Londoners.

He would be hoping to continue his football education in Germany with RB Leipzig who will play in the Champions League.

RB Leipzig returned to the Champions League after they finished third on the German Bundesliga table last season behind Borussia Dortmund and champions Bayern Munich.

It would be their second Champions League campaign in three seasons.

In addition, RB Leipzig also reached the German Cup final before they were thrashed 3-0 by eventual winners Bayern Munich.

On Ethan Ampadu, new Chelsea manager Frank Lampard revealed that he tried to sign him on loan while he was the Derby County manager during the last campaign.

Lampard stressed the need for Ampadu to go out on loan.

Nabil Fekir

Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir will undergo his Real Betis medical ahead of his €20m move.

The news of his medical was confirmed by popular media portal Goal.

Nabil Fekir has just one year left on his current deal at Lyon and the French Ligue 1 giants were almost handicapped in letting him leave this summer rather than for free next summer.

The French midfielder is expected to be the direct replacement for Giovanni Lo Celso at Real Betis.

Lo Celso is closing in on a move to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur and Nabil Fekir will replace him at the club.

The Argentine international was one of the best midfielders in the Spanish La Liga last season.

He scored 15 goals for Real Betis during the last campaign.

Nabil Fekir was previously a target for reigning European champions Liverpool.

As a matter of fact, he came close to joining Liverpool last summer after the Reds agreed on a £50m deal for him.

He had done his Liverpool medical before the Reds pulled the plug on the deal due to concerns over his knee.

The French World Cup winner was linked with Liverpool again this summer but the Reds debunked those transfer rumours.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has ruled out a return to fellow Premier League club Everton for Kurt Zouma.

In his latest interview monitored by the Daily Mail, Frank Lampard revealed that he wants to keep the player at the club.

French defender Zouma has returned to Chelsea this summer after spending last season on loan at Merseyside giants Everton.

He joined Everton on a season-long loan deal on the deadline day of last summer’s transfer window.

Kurt Zouma impressed a great deal at Everton and the Toffees were interested in a permanent deal for him.

Everton manager Marco Silva had previously said that he wants to keep the defender at Goodison Park but it seems like the Portuguese tactician won’t get his wish.

Frank Lampard has shown the willingness to give Chelsea loanees from last season a chance in his squad as he settles down to his new job as the Blues manager.

He signed a three-year deal at Chelsea until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Chelsea and Lampard are somewhat handicapped in the current transfer window due to the ban slammed on them by world football’s governing body FIFA.

The Blues have taken their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
