Maurizio Sarri’s men won unsurprisingly and comfortably against Cardiff City making them the current league leaders.

The Blues cruised through a 4:1 victory after Eden Hazard and Willian stole the show.

Sarri only made one change as against the team that played Rafael Benitez’s men while Pedro started ahead of Willian due to his impressive game in the last time out but it now looks like Willian could start ahead of Pedro in the next outing as both are unarguably super-subs.

One thing Sarri would be concerned about after earning the much-needed victory was the status of Matteo Kovacic who left the pitch early in the second half.

The Croatian player was replaced by Ross Barkley after signalling to the coach that he would not be able to continue, but immediately after the match Sarri called the doctor and said:

“I’ve spoken with the doctor and he has said it’s nothing serious.”

So as it is, there is no cause for alarm since the creative midfielder would resume sooner or rather than later.

Chelsea will have to be very careful now that they’ve lost both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and maybe Kovacic in a similar position, while Cesc Fabregas is still close to resuming.

Only Ross Barkley will now need to form a triumvirate alongside N’golo Kante and Jorginho against PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday.

Albeit, the former Everton player was impressive and looks fit to play in the role pending on when the other three return.

Exclusive! This maestro could be Sarri’s first signing in January
