Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar is reportedly unwilling to extend his contract with Inter Milan due to Mourinho’s interest in his signature.
Mourinho has been a long-time admirer of the Slovakian international and the Portuguese manager is ready to give all it takes to get him in the next transfer window.
According to Tutto Sports — an Italian publication, the Red Devils are looking at the prospect of bringing the defender to Old Trafford in January as it appears they won’t be able to lure Harry Maguire out of Leicester in the winter.
The 23-year-old joined the San Siro outfits from Sampdoria for €30m in 2017 but his future remains unclear despite having two years left in his contract.
Skriniar has seen himself pushed down the pecking order since Stefan De Vrij joined the Nerazzurri as a free agent during the summer window.
To further hasten the player’s decision to leave the club, report via Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed that the centre-back wants €2.7m as annual ‘after-tax’ salary but the Serie A giants are not ready to pay such amount for the young defender.
The player’s is reportedly valued at €60m by Inter Milan hierarchy but Mourinho is willing to cut down the price to €40m in January.
