Manchester United and their city rival Manchester City are known to have a longtime rivalry and both clubs are reportedly set for another heated rivalry in January.
According to the Sun on Sunday, the Red Devils are ready to rival the Citizens for the service of Wolverhampton’s youngster Ruben Neves, who has been awesome for the Premier League newcomers since the start of this campaign.
This won’t be the first time both clubs are chasing after the same player as it happened during the previous winter transfer window when Mourinho beat Guardiola to Alexis Sanchez’s signature.
It was believed that the former Barcelona manager has reached an agreement with Arsenal for the Chilean international, however, the Portuguese manager made a last-minute move and he successfully hijacked the player’s signature ahead of City.
Just as it happened with Alexis Sanchez, Mourinho is once again set to hijack City’s move for the young Portuguese midfielder.
The 21-year-old was a force behind Wolverhampton’s promotion to the Premier League last season as he was one of the best midfielders in the Championship. He has equally started this season in a blistering form and that has cut the attention of the two Manchester clubs.
Though Guardiola made a last-minute offer to Wolverhampton for the player’s signature during the summer transfer window, he failed to capture him due to the club’s decision
