Former Chelsea and England captain, Garry Cahill is close to leaving his present club in January after falling below Rudiger and David Luiz in Sarri’s pecking other.
Garry Cahill was part of the defensive force that helped Antonio Conte win his first title in the Premier League after enduring the 3:4:3 formation.
Albeit, the 32-year-old is still hoping he could play under the new manager Maurizio Sarri with optimistic belief that he would be used ahead of Rudiger or David Luiz.
The two aforementioned players have not shown Sarri any sign why they shouldn’t be his favourite.
Denmark international Christensen impressed and was largely part of Conte’s plan but the young defender has not made his intention known yet.
Cahill is yet to be named in Sarri’s substitutes since the start of the league but he could be a major part of the squad in the domestic league and perhaps, the imminent Europa cup.
The 32-year-old player could switch to Chelsea’s rival Manchester United as he had worked with José Mourinho when the Portuguese was managing the Blues team.
Report showed that Manchester United are not yet settled with the defensive options.
Mourinho could make use of Cahill to help consolidate the defense and coordinate the backline as Jones and Bailey have fallen short of remarks by the Portuguese.
With Cahill’s experience in champions league and premier league, he could be a hand for the Red Devils.
