Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has been linked with is his former club Leicester City in England after struggling under both former club manager Antonio Conte and current manager Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea signed the 28-year-old player last season after he made so much input in helping his former club to win their first Premier League title under then manager Claudio Ranieri in 2016.

He paired with N’Golo Kante while at Leicester and was also keen on battling with the likes of Fabregas and Bakayoko in pairing with the French player but he failed to impress before Conte benched him.

Present manager, Sarri has brought in more options in the midfield and it appears that Danny is not in his plans even when he accommodated Croatian and Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan.

Report showed that Danny has shown interest in returning to his club as Mark Huge is also keen on adding him to his midfield option in Southampton.

The £35 million-rated player has lost his place with the Blues as Sarri is even keen on encouraging Fabregas to remain with the Blues as his contract is due to expire.

Drinkwater is a defensive minded player who can deliver the ball squarely to players but Sarri already has Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Cesc Fabregas, N’golo Kante and Ethan Ampadu in similar position.

There is no sign of Drinkwater remaining with the club come next summer.

Liverpool missed signing this superstar, he could hurt them in champions league.
