Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson completed his loan move to Hoffenheim yesterday after extending his contract with the North London club.
However, his departure to the Bundesliga side has created huge vacuum at the final third of the pitch for the club’s Under-23 side to fill.
Nelson was one of the best strikers in the Premier League 2 throughout last season as he scored many goals to help the team to their first PL2 title.
However, his move away from the Emirates Stadium has opened door for new players to break into the limelight and one of them is James Olayinka.
Despite being 18 years old, the striker was included in coach Ampadu’s starting lineup in their clash against Tottenham’s U-23 team yesterday and he didn’t disappoint.
Though Olayinka had some nervous moments during the encounter, he grew into the game and produced a wonderful display for the team, helping them to a 3-1 victory over their North London rivals.
Still eligible to represent the Gunners U18 side, Olayinka made life unbearable for Tottenham defenders as his untiring runs unsettled them for the whole of the encounter.
His hard-working character was another trait displayed by the youngster during the game and that has proven that he might be the best player to replace Reiss Nelson, who is seeking for regular first-team action with Hoffenheim.
