Crystal Palace Winger Wilfred Zaha has revealed that he never had any intention to leave the Selhurst Park this summer despite interest from top Premier League clubs.
It was reported that the Gunners were closely monitoring his contract situation with the Eagles as they planned to make move for his signature during the summer window.
Just like the Gunners, Liverpool were also believed to have made enquiries over his future, hoping to make an offer for him ahead of the North Londoners.
Despite all their efforts and transfer tactics to see that the Ivorian join their respective clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool were unable to lure him out of Hodgson’s watch before the close of the window.
After failing to move out of the Selhurst Park Stadium, the former United flop was offered a new contract by Crystal Palace’s hierarchy which he gladly received.
While discussing his failed move to either Arsenal or Liverpool, the Ivorian claimed that he wasn’t eager to move to any top Premier League clubs this summer, considering how he was treated by Alex Ferguson during his unsuccessful spell at Old Trafford.
According to him, he’s is happy playing under Hodgson because he’s closer to his family.
“I’m at home here and I’m playing football regularly, I’m enjoying my football so it was a no brainer,” he said
He revealed that he never consider leaving the Eagles despite huge numerous reports linking him with a move to more established and successful clubs.
