What Shaqiri Told Klopp Ahead Of Leicester City’s Game

Liverpool battle Leicester City on Saturday and they would be hoping to claim their fourth consecutive victory of the season.

The Reds narrowly defeated Brighton last Saturday but Klopp wasn’t impressed with his men’s performance during the game.

According to the manager in his post-match conference, his players looked tired in the second half of the encounter and that could make him rotate his starting line-up against the Foxes on Saturday.

While replying to the manager’s decision to rotate his squad ahead of their trip to the King Power Stadium, Liverpool’s summer signing Xherdan Shaqiri told the gaffer his readiness to play in any position at the final half of the pitch.

“I believe that I can play every position along the front line and the coach knows that,” he admitted.

According to the Switzerland international, Klopp is a good manager who demands so much from his players and he is willing to meet the manager’s standards.

He said he is willing to help the team maintain their 100% start to the 2018-19 season, even if it cost him playing in an unfamiliar position.

The former Stoke City is known to be a centre-forward during his days at the Britannia stadium but that position is currently occupied by Mohammed Salah, who has been excellent since he joined the Reds from Roma last season.

Shaqiri said he can play as a playmaker, winger, centre-forward just as he did in pre-season matches.

“I played every position in the friendlies: I played as a nine, I played as a 10 and I’ve played as a winger, ” he said.

Shaqiri has appeared in just eight minutes of action since he completed his £13m move to Anfield during the summer transfer window.
