Loris Karius is on the verge of completing his long-term loan deal to Besiktas, that’s according to Liverpool Echo.
The goalkeeper has seen himself dropped down to the second position in the club’s pecking order since the arrival of Brazilian goalie Alisson Becker from Roma.
The German goalie is reportedly set to move to the Turkish side as Liverpool are believed to have reached an agreement with the club over his signature.
According to the Merseyside publication, the Reds have agreed to loan out Karius for two seasons as they are going to receive £2.2m from the deal.
However, the media outlet further revealed that Besiktas are mandated to outrightly buy him for £7.25m in 2020, should he perform brilliantly during his loan spell at the club.
With this report, it means Belgian goaltender Simon Mignolet will remain at Anfield Stadium as the second-choice goalie in Klopp’s side.
Mignolet was linked with a move to Fenerbahce and Napoli during the summer window but none of them were able to prise him out of the Anfield Stadium.
He will serve as back up to Alisson for the rest of this season because there are no club interested in signing him before the close of the transfer period in all European countries.
