Mesut Ozil

Another less-inspiring display from the German, who looked out of place throughout his time on the pitch.

He didn’t do anything to help his team get into the game and was rightly substituted in the 68th minute of the encounter.

Things hasn’t been going well the £320k weekly earner since last January, he must return to form soon, else, he lost his place to Alex Iwobi or Torreira in Emery’s first XI .

Alex Iwobi

What a way to lay claim for starting berth in the Gunners team! The Nigerian international surprised many spectators with his breathtaking performances throughout the game.

He tormented the Blues defenders with his tricky run and skills, scored the equalizing goal from Mkhitaryan’s assist.

The young striker still needs to work on his finishing as he missed some opportunities that could win the game.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Just like Iwobi, the Gabonese striker missed many clear-cut chances that should have helped them get past the home team.

He was lively during the game but he needs to begin to show why Wenger spent so much on his signature in last summer’s transfer window.

Torreira

The Uruguayan came on for Granit Xhaka in the second half and he showed why he should be starting in the team.

He brought balance and quality to the Gunners midfield.

Ramsey

Lost his starting spot to Iwobi but was brought into the game for Mesut Ozil in the second half. Had a nice game but couldn’t prevent the team from losing to the Blues.

Lacazette

Played the last 15 minutes of the encounter when he replaced Iwobi in the 75th minute but didn’t see much of the ball as Chelsea were defending their slim lead.

Arsenal in talks with Lazio over possible deal

A report by Italian outlet Calciomercato reveals that Italian Serie A outfit Lazio are in talks with the English Premier League club Arsenal over a deal for Shkodran Mustafi this summer window.

It is claimed that they are keen on the German defender and will work hard to prise him away as they are already in talks with the Gunners chiefs.

Shkodran Mustafi is one of the players that have been tipped to leave the club this summer window as he has now gone down the pecking order in the Mikel Arteta team with the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba.

With no hope of regular playing time in the new season, the best option for Shkodran Mustafi is to leave the club and he is reportedly listening to offers with the hope of completing a move to Italy.

However, the North London outfit have valued Shkodran Mustafi at £10 million and that could be affordable for Lazio but that will not happen without a battle with other Serie A clubs who are also interested in his signature.

Shkodran Mustafi is expected to raise part of the funds that will be used by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to bring in a midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.

From all indications, the English Premier League club Arsenal are no longer interested in the signature of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as they are yet to submit an offer for him.

Odsonne Edouard was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after it was claimed that he wants to leave Celtic because of their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

The speculations of Arsenal’s link with Odsonne Edouard were motivated by the claims that Alexandre Lacazette would be leaving the club this summer transfer window and he was tipped as a replacement.

The issue has now been laid to rest as it is assured that the Alexandre Lacazette is in the plans of manager Mikel Arteta for the new season and will no longer be leaving the club this summer window.

The development has been further explained with the claim by Celtic boss Neil Lennon that the club have not received any bid from any club for their star striker while stressing that they are not interested in parting ways with him anytime soon.

However, with the current situation at Arsenal, there are no chances that the former Lyon striker will leave the club as he has delivered good performances with goals in his last two Premier League games.

Thomas Partey

The North London outfit, Arsenal recently cashed in £20 million from the sale of Emi Martinez to Aston Villa and they could be preparing to earn more from another sale.

The North London club are hoping for new additions with the signature of midfielders but that has been difficult as they have been unable to meet the valuation for their targets.

The North London outfit have indicated an interest in Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar from Atletico Madrid and Lyon respectively but their fee of £45 million and £60 million has been difficult to pay for the Gunners.

To complete these deals, the Gunners must sell and that may be continuing with Uruguay international Lucas Torreira with reports that he is in talks with Atletico Madrid after emerging as their favourite target.

However, the deal is being delayed by the negotiation between the two clubs. The North London club wants a swap deal that has Thomas Partey join the Emirates Stadium but Atletico Madrid only seek the activation of his release clause with no attachment.

Howbeit, they are interested in a single deal for Lucas Torreira and will try to convince Arsenal for a loan term and a compulsory buy after a season.

North London giants Arsenal have announced the signing of Icelandic international goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson.

The Gunners made the announcement on Monday evening and the shot stopper is expected to be the backup to first choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Runar Alex Runarsson has signed for Arsenal from French team Dijon in a £1.6m deal as confirmed by the Guardian.

The 25-year-old has been signed as a backup to Emiliano Martinez who left the Gunners for Aston Villa last weekend.

Aston Villa agreed a £20m, including add-ons, with Arsenal to take the Argentine international.

Martinez was the longest serving player at Arsenal before he left the club for the former European champions.

He made his debut for Aston Villa during the Premier League game at home to Sheffield United on Monday night.

Emiliano Martinez made his mark as he saved a first-half penalty from John Lundstram who missed the chance to give 10-man Sheffield United the lead.

The Blades had centre back John Egan sent off in the first 15 minutes of the game.

The penalty save from Emiliano Martinez was crucial as Aston Villa eventually won 1-0 courtesy the 63rd minute header from Ezri Konsa.

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is the subject of interest from two major Italian Serie A clubs according to reports coming out of the media in Italy.

The 28-year-old has been linked with Italian clubs Lazio and Napoli.

Mustafi is a fan of the Italian Serie A after he expressed it in an interview monitored by Football Italia while he was at Sampdoria.

The German international could return to the Italian Serie A with the likes of Liverpool and Napoli interested in him.

He has less than a year left on his existing Gunners contract and the German could cost between €10m and €12m.

Italian news outlet Corriere della Serra revealed that capital club Lazio don’t mind paying the aforementioned fee.

Shkodran Mustafi is presently injured following the knee injury sustained towards the end of last season.

The German is expected to return to full training next month.

Arsenal have two new central defenders this summer and that has pushed Mustafi down the pecking order.

The Gunners signed Gabriel Magalhaes from French club Lille in a £25m deal earlier this summer and he has already made his mark with a goal on his debut.

The second centre back is William Saliba after he returned from his loan spell at Saint Etienne.

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has submitted a transfer request in a bid to secure a move from the club during this summer’s transfer window.

The young French midfielder has two weeks left in his bid to leave Arsenal this year as the transfer window is scheduled to end on Monday, October 5.

The transfer request submitted by French national team invitee Matteo Guendouzi was confirmed by French publication L’Equipe.

Matteo Guendouzi has been frozen out of the Arsenal team since last season.

His last game in an Arsenal shirt came during the disappointing 2-1 loss away to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Matteo Guendouzi was involved in an unsavoury incident with Brighton striker Neal Maupay at the end of that game as he grabbed the throat of his compatriot.

The 21-year-old was reacting to the Brighton player after he injured Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno during the first half of the aforementioned game.

Guendouzi encountered disciplinary problems at Arsenal for his action during the game and he complicated his situation by showing no remorse.

The Gunners midfielder has been linked with several clubs in France and Spain this summer and the North Londoners won’t hesitate to sell him to fund the transfer of new players.

Matteo Guendouzi has been linked with clubs like Valencia, Villarreal, PSG etc.
