The summer transfer window shutdown yesterday in Italy but Juventus were fast enough to complete their surprise move for Arsenal youngster Stephy Mavididi.

The 20-year-old striker had a successful medical on Thursday and he agreed to terms and conditions with the Scudetto giants on before he signed a new contract with the team on Friday.

The England youth player joined the Gunners as a child and he progresses through the ranks.

Signed his first professional contract with the North London club in 2015 at the age of 17.

Despite signing his first contract three years ago, the young striker didn’t have any appearance for the senior team throughout his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

He was loaned out to Championship club Charlton Athletic in the 2016-17 season.

The youngster was also sent on another loan spell to League One side Preston during the 2017-18 season.

While confirming the player’s move to Juventus, Arsenal – via their official website- revealed that Mavididi will join the Old Lady ‘B’ team for this season.

This means that the youngster will need to improve his performance with the youth team so as to convince Massimiliano Allegri he deserves a place in his team.

Mavididi has featured for all England’s youth team but has not been invited to the senior squad.
