Chelsea 3 vs 2 Arsenal ; Chelsea Player Rating —2

arsenal vs chelsea

The Blues defeated the Gunners with a narrow margin – thanks to Eden Hazard’s late goal. Here is the rating on how the Blues players performed during the encounter:

The Italian continues to wow the Blues fans with his majestic display at the middle of the park. He was indirectly involved in their first goal of the game. He is surely a hit for the Blues so far this season.

N’Golo Kante

Not as lively as the player we used to see. However, his presence was felt at the middle of the pitch as he curtailed some of Arsenal’s attacking moves during the game.

Ross Barkley

The England international is enjoying a rejuvenated career under Maurizio Sarri and he hasn’t disappointed since the start of the season.

He had a great display in the game but was unlucky not to get on the score sheet after lots of shots on goal.

Could do better with his finishing, however, his pace was a very great asset that troubled the Gunners throughout the game.

The Spanish striker is enjoying a fine form under Sarri as he scored the Blues first goal of the game via Alonso’s assist.

Alvaro Morata

Morata is desperate to impress for the Blues as he worked his socks off during the game.

However, his efforts were rewarded with a confidence-boosting goal, his first in many Premier League matches.

Eden Hazard

came on to assist the winning goal for the Blues. He will hope to get much game-time in the next encounter.

Olivier Giroud

Still has to improve with his finishing, he did little to help the team while attacking.

Matteo Kovacic

A great debut for the Croatian, he was awesome at the middle of the field. Help the Blues to maintain their lead. A very inspiring performance from the Real Madrid loanee.

Arsenal in talks with Lazio over possible deal

Timothy Aiyeku

A report by Italian outlet Calciomercato reveals that Italian Serie A outfit Lazio are in talks with the English Premier League club Arsenal over a deal for Shkodran Mustafi this summer window.

It is claimed that they are keen on the German defender and will work hard to prise him away as they are already in talks with the Gunners chiefs.

Shkodran Mustafi is one of the players that have been tipped to leave the club this summer window as he has now gone down the pecking order in the Mikel Arteta team with the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba.

With no hope of regular playing time in the new season, the best option for Shkodran Mustafi is to leave the club and he is reportedly listening to offers with the hope of completing a move to Italy.

However, the North London outfit have valued Shkodran Mustafi at £10 million and that could be affordable for Lazio but that will not happen without a battle with other Serie A clubs who are also interested in his signature.

Shkodran Mustafi is expected to raise part of the funds that will be used by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to bring in a midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal no longer interested in Celtic striker

Timothy Aiyeku

From all indications, the English Premier League club Arsenal are no longer interested in the signature of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as they are yet to submit an offer for him.

Odsonne Edouard was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after it was claimed that he wants to leave Celtic because of their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

The speculations of Arsenal’s link with Odsonne Edouard were motivated by the claims that Alexandre Lacazette would be leaving the club this summer transfer window and he was tipped as a replacement.

The issue has now been laid to rest as it is assured that the Alexandre Lacazette is in the plans of manager Mikel Arteta for the new season and will no longer be leaving the club this summer window.

The development has been further explained with the claim by Celtic boss Neil Lennon that the club have not received any bid from any club for their star striker while stressing that they are not interested in parting ways with him anytime soon.

However, with the current situation at Arsenal, there are no chances that the former Lyon striker will leave the club as he has delivered good performances with goals in his last two Premier League games.

English Premier League outfit Arsenal are reportedly keen on the signature of Chief medic Bruno Mazziotti from French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain in the coming days.

The Athletic reports that Arsenal chief Edu is keen to work with his old friend again so as to fill the vacant position at the club.

It is understood that Edu and Bruno Mazziotti worked together at Corinthians and the Selecao national team. They could be set for a reunion at the Emirates Stadium for the new season.

The North London club have got a number of injury situations at the moment but that that not affected their results with two major wins in their opening games of the season.

Arsenal close to cashing in again to fund Partey deal

Timothy Aiyeku

Thomas Partey

The North London outfit, Arsenal recently cashed in £20 million from the sale of Emi Martinez to Aston Villa and they could be preparing to earn more from another sale.

The North London club are hoping for new additions with the signature of midfielders but that has been difficult as they have been unable to meet the valuation for their targets.

The North London outfit have indicated an interest in Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar from Atletico Madrid and Lyon respectively but their fee of £45 million and £60 million has been difficult to pay for the Gunners.

To complete these deals, the Gunners must sell and that may be continuing with Uruguay international Lucas Torreira with reports that he is in talks with Atletico Madrid after emerging as their favourite target.

However, the deal is being delayed by the negotiation between the two clubs. The North London club wants a swap deal that has Thomas Partey join the Emirates Stadium but Atletico Madrid only seek the activation of his release clause with no attachment.

Howbeit, they are interested in a single deal for Lucas Torreira and will try to convince Arsenal for a loan term and a compulsory buy after a season.

Amuda Segun

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is the subject of interest from two major Italian Serie A clubs according to reports coming out of the media in Italy.

The 28-year-old has been linked with Italian clubs Lazio and Napoli.

Mustafi is a fan of the Italian Serie A after he expressed it in an interview monitored by Football Italia while he was at Sampdoria.

The German international could return to the Italian Serie A with the likes of Liverpool and Napoli interested in him.

He has less than a year left on his existing Gunners contract and the German could cost between €10m and €12m.

Italian news outlet Corriere della Serra revealed that capital club Lazio don’t mind paying the aforementioned fee.

Shkodran Mustafi is presently injured following the knee injury sustained towards the end of last season.

The German is expected to return to full training next month.

Arsenal have two new central defenders this summer and that has pushed Mustafi down the pecking order.

The Gunners signed Gabriel Magalhaes from French club Lille in a £25m deal earlier this summer and he has already made his mark with a goal on his debut.

The second centre back is William Saliba after he returned from his loan spell at Saint Etienne.

Matteo Guendouzi has been frozen out of the Arsenal team since last season.

Guendouzi encountered disciplinary problems at Arsenal for his action during the game and he complicated his situation by showing no remorse.

The Gunners midfielder has been linked with several clubs in France and Spain this summer and the North Londoners won’t hesitate to sell him to fund the transfer of new players.
