Chelsea are on the verge of breaking their record this summer as they are reportedly set to offer Brazilian winger Willian with a two-year contract deal.
The Blues usually give a 12-month contract to players who are in their 30s but they going to do the unusual with the Brazilian star, that’s according to the Sun.
Willian, 30, rejected offers from Barcelona and Manchester United last month to remain at Stamford Bridge.
The player was heavily linked with the Blaugrana but the player failed to accept the big-money offer for his signature as he claimed he wants to play under Maurizio Sarri this season.
Just as Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, Manchester United manager José Mourinho – who brought the winger to Chelsea from in 2013-wants to reunite with him at Old Trafford but reports suggested the Brazilian turned down the chance to play under the Portuguese manager at the Theater of Dreams.
As a way to reward his loyalty and dedication to the club, Chelsea have reportedly prepared a two-year contract for Willian. The deal is believed to include increased weekly wages and other benefits.
Willian sparingly featured for the Blues throughout last season due to his cold relationship with Antonio Conte, who didn’t rate the Brazilian.
Willian has seen himself returned back to the starting lineup since Sarri took charge of the team.
He was lively against Huddersfield, he would be expected to maintain his blistering display when the Gunners came visiting tomorrow.
