David Ospina ‘To Undergo Napoli Medical Ahead Of £4.5m Move’
Arsenal and Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina is presently in Italy for medical ahead of his proposed £4.5m move to Napoli.
The Naples have been in discussions with the Gunners for the goalie’s signature but didn’t make any breakthrough until Monday when reports when reports claimed that both clubs have reached an agreement.
According to London Evening Standard, the 29-year-old is set to be unveiled by the Naples this afternoon should he pass his medical.
It was believed that Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas were closed to hiring his services last month but they failed to convince the Gunners due to unsuitable offer.
As per the report, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are going to sign him up on a loan deal which is believed to have worth £895,000.
Should the goaltender impress in his first season at the club, the Naples are reportedly going to sign him on a permanent deal which is also set to cost them £3.58m.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery completed his move for Bernd Leno in July and he’s expected to become the club’s first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Petr Cech.
Though Leno hasn’t been given the nod to start ahead of the Czech international, David Ospina has automatically become Arsenal’s third choice goalkeeper.
It would be very difficult to get any action on the pitch, except the two goalies ahead of him are injured or they suspended.
