Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek has emerged as a target for Bundesliga side Schalke before the end of the summer window.
Though the summer transfer window has shut down in the English Premier League, other Leagues are still actively involved in the market till the end of the month. This means Premier League clubs could still send some of their players on a loan deal to other clubs in different League.
Therefore, the England international striker, who was in fine form for the Three Lions in Russia, could be heading to the German League as reports claimed that Schalke are keenly interested in his signature.
Having failed to capture Real Madrid forward Matteo Kovacic on loan, the Bundesliga giants have turned their attention to the 22-year-old striker.
It is believed that signing Matteo Kovacic would push the youngster down the pecking order and he could be heading elsewhere in search of regular action in the coming season.
However, the Telegraph are reporting the player is set to remain at Stamford Bridge and fight for a place in Sarri’s starting lineup this season.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek played for 20 minutes in the club’s first game of the season against Huddersfield last weekend as he came on for Ross Barkley in the 70th minute and he was lively throughout the time he spent the field of play.
As Bakayoko’s proposed move to AC Milan is successful, then the player will be rest assured of staying at Stamford Bridge for this season as he would occupy the Frenchman’s space in the team, though his regular game-time are not guaranteed.
