Jurgen Klopp Faces Goalkeeping Dilemma
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has limited time to decide whom would be sold out and who will be retained as his second choice goalie between Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.
According to reports, both goalkeepers are getting interest from top clubs in Turkey but it is important for Klopp to have a capable back up for Alisson Becker, who joined the Reds from Roma in a record-breaking deal.
Turkish giants Besiktas earlier shown their desire to signed Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet from the Anfield Stadium but the reportedly cooled their urge for his signature due to huge price tag placed on him by the Merseyside club.
Having pulled out of the deal for the 30-year-old netminder, the Turks turned their attention to German goaltender Loris Karius as they want him on a loan deal.
Karius, 25, was Liverpool’s No1 goaltender during the second half of last season but his errors has influenced Klopp’s decision to pay £67m for Alisson
Mignolet is now being tracked by Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is eager to integrate the Belgian into his starting lineup this season.
He is also said to be Fenerbahce’s target, though nothing has really developed between the two clubs.
However, it remains unknown who would be allowed to leave Anfield Stadium but it is certain that a goalie would be permitted to move to another club where playing time would be guaranteed.
