Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma was able to complete his loan switch to Everton before the close of the transfer window last night.
We reported here on Wednesday that the player is being tracked by Everton manager Marco Silva, who wants to upgrade his team at the back of the pitch before the 2018-19 season begins.
According to the Daily Mirror, the former Watford manager was able to convince the Frenchman to join him at the Merseyside club as he penned a season-long loan deal with the team.
The 22-year-old centre-back is definitely not in Sarri’s plan for the upcoming season as he was left out of the team that travelled to France for their last pre-season match against Lyon last week.
Kurt was one of the best defenders during Mourinho’s second term as the Blues manager but he suffered a lengthy injury which ultimately halted his development in the game.
Though he returned to full fitness after some spell on the sideline, he was the shadow of himself and couldn’t reclaim his starting place under Antonio Conte. He was eventually loaned out to Stoke City last season.
He would be hoping to feature regularly under Marco Silva in the 2018-19 season so as to return to the level he ought to have been if not for the unfortunate injury.
